Local Records on Microfilm
The State Archives holds microfilm copies of many local government records, some of them dating back to the colonial period. The records include county, city, town, village, and school district administrative records. Few of the records include genealogical data. Microfilmed local government records available in the Archives are listed in Guide to Records in the New York State Archives (1993), Appendix B, and in the Archives' online catalog, Excelsior.
